Domaine Roy
The Roy estate, handed down from generation to generation, has belonged to the same family since 1632. Dominique and Vincent run 11.5 hectares of vineyards and mainly produce premiers crus” wines.
The estate is located in Auxey Duresses, a small village in a side valley off the Côte de Beaune, with a slightly cooler local climate making for a more austere style of Burgundy.
On the slopes behind Meursault we find the vineyards of Auxey-Duresses combining the rich full character of its neighbour with the more mineral tones of the second line of slopes towards St. Romain.
There are reds which can age well but it is the whites that generate most interest and can have a most attractive minerality.
