Domaine Guy Robin
The village of Chablis gives its name to one of the most famous French white wines. Chablis is made with Chardonnay, a grape that grows particularly well in the region.
Being further north than the rest of Burgundy, and on a different type of limestone (Kimmeridgian, with some Portlandian), the wines are subtly different in style - slightly more austere with a beautiful fresh minerality, which is what makes makes them so good with seafood!
A lovely 20 hectare estate surrounding the village of Chablis. The vines get all the exposure to the sun they need on these steep south-east facing slopes running east to west.
Domaine Guy Robin have excellent vineyard holdings in the Premier Cru Chablis classification.
Marie-Ange Robin has won many awards, and deservedly so. She uses little or no oak barrels during the vinification of the wines to ensure the flavours of classic Chablis terroir are left unimpeded.
Once you've tried it, you'll certainly see the benefits of this non-interventionist approach for these very reasonably priced Premier Cru wines.
