Domaine Chavet

Another significant appellation in the Loire is Menetou-Salon.

The vineyards here stretch south west from Sancerre; best examples are found on the limestone-based slopes of Morogues. This is where the Sauvignon was originally grown and Domaine Chavet, with 23ha of vineyards, can be found.

The Chavet family has been making wine here since the 17th century, in the very heart of the Menetou-Salon vineyard and has succeeded in developing very unique and expressive wines.

It is a source of good value, classically styled wines and the wines from Domaine Chavet are punchy and delicious as any decent Loire Sauvignon should be.
