This wonderful find is from an area densely populated with small producers, and we were fortunate to discover this dedicated grower who makes astonishingly good wine. A fantastic Chardonnay, which goes perfectly with seafood and delicate dishes.

Bourgogne – Pinot Noir ‘Vieilles Vignes’ ~ Domaine Justin Girardin
An award-winning wine with a lingering bouquet of ripe fruit and subtle flavours produced in the village of Santenay. Grapes are destemmed, put into vat at 12°c for 5 days (cold pre-fermentary) to extract the primary aromas. Then fermentation lasts around 20 days then aged in French oak barrels for 15 months producing a S=supple wine, which is lightly structured, fruity and fresh.
Best to pair with white meat, poultry, pies, and light cheeses and the operating temperature is between 16°C & 17°C

Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru ‘Morgeot’ ~ Domaine Justin Girardin
This wine has a wonderfully powerful nose with great length with a mineral finish. Best to drink between 2 and 6 years and serve at 12°C. Paired best with seafood and chicken dishes.

Meursault ~ Domaine Justin Girardin
A beautiful wine which has all the time and dedication it deserves. Fermentation takes place at a low temperature to keep all the flavours intact.Only natural yeasts are used to keep the charm and character of the wine.
Pale yellow in colour, with a nose that offers plenty of fruit flavours in particular peach, melon, apricot and exotic fruits. The palate is also very intense with a long mineral finish. Ageing potential is 5-10 years.

Santenay 1er Cru ‘Clos Beauregard’ ~ Domaine Justin Girardin
This producer’s vineyards are well sheltered, enabling the grapes to ripen to perfection, producing a very aromatic, well-balanced wine. Spending 15 months in oak barrels gives this wine a fantastic structure.

Santenay Blanc ‘Les Terrasses de Bievaux’ ~ Domaine Justin Girardin
The wine is clear and brilliant , mineral and floral , fresh and vigorous. Its aromatic expression features notes of bracken and hazelnut. Unusually for this appellation, this young, enthusiastic grower produces a white wine deliciously tinged with the flavour of honey, apple and nutmeg.
This wine is fantastic with chicken, pâtés, seafood, and soft cheeses such as Camembert and Brie and should ideally be served at 12°C

Santenay ‘Vieilles Vignes’ ~ Domaine Justin Girardin
Deeply intense ruby red wine with hints of crimson. However, on the palate this wine is delicate with pronounced raspberry and blackcurrant flavours. On the nose there are developed floral aromas of violets and iris. This wine comes from 45 year old vines and ages 12 months in french oak barrels.
