Aligoté
A thin-skinned grape grown in Burgundy and Bulgaria. It makes tart wines of moderate alcoholic content, but in exceptionally hot years they can have good weight and richness. The variety's best wines come from certain Burgundian villages, especially Bouzeron, where the quality may be improved by the addition of a little Chardonnay. It can place as a good aperitif to clean the palate before dinning.
Pronounced: Ah-lee-gaw-TAY
